he's home!!

so happy. the only way i can describe how i am feeling is SOOO HAAAPPPYYY. overwhelmingly happy.
my dallin came home from his honorable 2 year mission in Nashville Tennessee yesterday, january 23rd.
the bestie tayler and my mom took pictures at the airport for me, so his family and i could have our hands empty!
 tayler slept over with me the night before, i couldn't sleep OBVIOUSLY, so we stayed up to watch gossip girl and paint nails. and i had to nervous clean haha. thats just what i do! she fell asleep and i laid there aalll night. way too excited. we got up and got ready and left way early, which happened to be the best time to get there :) plus his flight was 13 minutes early! and we enjoyed some kevas on the way :)

getting to the airport it got even more real. i think that i kind of didn't believe that all this good luck was happening to me? we pulled up to the airport and i thought my hands couldn't shake any harder haha :) and then they did!

thank goodness for these things. they slowed me down! otherwise i would have been running :) but we hopped on and took our time :)

we got home at about 11:30, and he wasn't getting released until 5:30!! longest hours EVER. for everyone. dallin and i did figure out what to do though. high fives! we couldn't have any games or movies or music going while he was still an elder, and really couldn't do much else! everyone was too anxious to eat. so we sat and stared at him! thats when all this notsleepingallweek thing kicked in haha. exhausted! when it was time to get released, we met with his stake president who had a nice chat and lots of lovely things to say, and  then released him with an amazing blessing. dallin took off his tags, and we got in the car. 

and guess what. we held hands! i have been waiting for 2 years to do that!! you can guess what happened next :)

we went home to change out of church clothes and went to dinner with his family! then all watched avengers. it was such an amazing day! i am so thankful for all that he has done these past two years! 

but i am so so happy to have him home! and things are absolutely wonderful. its like he never left, but better.

the ending to such a perfect day! and can't wait to have a million more! i went to bed last night with a good night text, and woke up this morning to a good morning text!! i am in heaven. i've missed him so much. its so good to have him here :)

january package

yesterday i sent my very last package!!
for a minute it was a little bittersweet, a little weird thinking that it was my last one ever.
but then i got over it and got waaayyy excited. hello!! only one last package! and i even could stress over making sure it got there before he leaves. awesome feeling.
so his birthday is this saturday, but he's trying to pack up and such, so i didn't want to send him needless things to carry. so i sent him a cupcake :) a yummy one from sweet tooth fairy.
with happy birthday confetti of course :) my box was the exact size for a cupcake, but too small for a birthday card, and i had to fold up my letter in there :)
so his real birthday presents are waiting here for him to open, along with his christmas presents. and from his family too. it will be a great day getting allll those presents haha!!

so many kinds!! they all looked delicious, but too fancy to mail. i think i need to go back and get myself one as a reward for only buying one!!

'all is well'

ok i know i already posted today.

but since it's january first, today i restarted in my book of mormon, and i started both my new books for christmas. 

i love the book of mormon. i love the stories of nephi, i never get tired of them or being at the beginning of this wonderful book.

i got all is well for christmas, by ed j pinegar, richard j allen, and paul jensen. anyway, its a daily inspirational thought book, most of the passages are connected with the pioneers. very inspiring see? this is also great because ive been reading the work and the glory ( i'm halfway through book 2 :) ) and i am loving it. i love the stories i'm learning or relearning about the early church members. and i know its just a book, and i know it's historical fiction, but i feel like i'm getting to know Joseph Smith alot better, getting to understand him more, getting to know more about the actual restoration of our church, and really understand what the saints were going through more than i have before. but this is for another time. continuing. i just cant express how excited i am to start on this new book! here is a part of the preface. this book is intended to serve four main purposes. 1. brighten each day of the year with small increments of light and truth. 2. kindle the glow of spiritual awareness and understanding in our lives. 3. foster gratitude to our father in heaven for having restored the fullness of the everlasting gospel in our times in the form of a 'marvelous work and a wonder'. 4. stimulate prayerful remembrance and application of many of the grand gospel themes and principles that pertain to our covenant commitments. ah just what i need! i'm just excited. 

i also love the title all is well. every time i look over at my book i remember. all is well.

2013!!

happy new year! happy january! this is my year. and my month! my dallin comes home this month!! aahh!!!!!
sooo much has happened in 2012 but i'm glad to be in 2013! i've been waiting so long haha. i am so excited for all my new and exciting adventures coming up for 2013.
lets check up on last year's resolutions.

1: read my scriptures EVERY day. check.

2: learn to wink better! haha. check. i practiced alot.
3: blog more. i definitely need to be better at blogging. check. think i'm doing good?
4: learn to knit! i can crochet like a fool but i have never tried knitting. check. worth learning!

5: learn to make sushi. not check. but tayler and i ate enough sushi in 2012 that i'm pretty sure i could construct some in my sleep if needed. so half check haha :)

6: read some new books, not just my same go-to faves. check! and loved it!

2013 RESOLUTIONS :)

• read my scriptures every day
• keep reading new books, along with my favorites :) for christmas i got these two lovely books that i've been saving to start today. i'm excited to read them! i've also been reading the work and the glory series, which i am LOVING. that might take me all year haha :)

• look for more oppurtunities for service. i had a small oppurtunity last night, and it felt so good i couldn't stop thinking about it. i need to do more service!
• plow through school :) i love my school but who doesn't want to be done??
• keep busting it at the gym :)

i'm sure i'll come up with more, and i'll add them to my list.

the biggest thing about today is that its finally january. january january january. which i usually find bleak and cold and grey, but today i feel good. i'm counting on january to fly by, so i can see my dallin soon!

22 more days!!! too exciting.
