important kiddos in my life

i am so blessed to work with so many kids every day! i teach dance everyday during the week, preschool on thursdays, and primary on sundays. i love each of them and i have enjoyed getting to know them as the sweet little souls that they are. a couple mornings ago, in one of my 3 year old dance classes, we were sitting down in a circle to talk about what we were working on in class, blah blah. i'm in the middle of a sentence when i get interrupted by one of my sweetie pies, saying 'teacher when we dont have class do you miss us? every day?' and i do i really do. so i told her that. then she says 'its because you really do love us isnt it?' and i really do love them! so i told them so. and then for the next five minutes the only sound in the studio was my five precious little girls in tutus each telling me how much they loved me, getting progressively louder. it was just one of those things that makes your day exponentially better you know?? later that afternoon, i had another older dance class. we were practicing pirhouettes, and one girl turns to me and says 'tu es bonita'. then keeps dancing. now i know thats not proper spanish but i do know what it means. so i thank her and tell her she's beautiful too. she stops turning and says 'i mean it!' which was just silly because i had no makeup on. haha i dont know why she said it in spanish, she must have just learned it at school. but in any language, i'll take it!
i love helping my mama at preschool. those 8 kids are just so fun. they get wild, but i love to watch their faces when we're reading a story they dont know, or explaining a craft they havent done. i love their big hugs after they get their hand sanitizer, and the non stop chatter of miss hilary this is what i did yesterday. i love watching them at recess, they are so intent on their games. i loved watching one boy race himself arond the basketball court, proclaim himself winner of his BIG RACE, run a victory lap shouting thusly, and giving me a leaf so i could present him with his prize for winning his big race. i love being in a learning environment!
i love my primary kids. i have a class of 7 kids, all turning six this year. i usually get at least one picture every week. sometimes theyre loud and we have to play lots of attention games before we can start, but i love teaching them things they dont know. today we were practicing for our primary program next week, and i was so proud of how brave my kids were to get up and say their parts. i love hearing them sing, and when the dont know the words, humming the tune loudly. theyre so cute! teaching primary is such a big responsibility, when i think about how little they know, and how much they will rely on their teacher to tell them! when i keep in mind how vitally important it is, it makes this calling so much easier.
i love being with these kids, and verbal or nonverbal, their thanks and love makes every day so much better!

halloween jars!

arent these halloween jars adorable?? i mod podged tissue paper to the jars, and when you put candles in them, they glow! more holiday crafts to come! :)

october package!

happy october! this has lots and lots of treats and one trick :) theres a creepy bat in there! it says i'm batty for you :) besides the candy, i sent his missionary bear back! his bear had a hole in his back that dallin needed me to sew up for him! so i'm sending him back fresh and good as new :)

past packages!

i need to catch up my blog with all my past packages before i can put my october package up!!
february package: my dallin had been out almost a whole month, but had been in TN exactly a week on valentines day, and feb 14th is our anniversary! i made a book of my 14 favorite memories, and sent lots and lots of candy! march package: i did all things green! green candy, green confetti, green gum, green kool aid, green tie, and green baby food and fart putty (inside jokes) :)

april package: easter eggs! lots of easter eggs, filled with candy and toys :) and enough to share with his companions!

may package: it was tornado season in tennessee, so i made a tornado kit!! i put in safety facts, pictures, candies, and a flashlight june package: youre an incREDible missionary package :) all things red!! he really is incredible :)
july package: triple package haha it was our six month mark, fourth of july package, and fathers day package that i didnt send with the june package! i took pictures of doing sparklers on the fourth of july that said i love you, and with the six months letter i put 6 confetti! which i made by cutting off all the 0's from 60th birthday confetti, and a motab cd he wanted :)

august package: i did refills on everything! new paper and pens and stamps and gum :)
september package: happy my birthday! i sent him everything we would use at my birthday, since he's missing it! pink of course :)

birthday package!!

today i got my birthday package from my dallin!! he sent me a whole outfit! tennessee vols basketball shorts, vols shirt, and vols hat! all in that ridiculously bright orange :) he's so sweet! and a cute birthday letter of course :)

birthday!

today was my birthday! it was a pretty good day! it feels wierd to be 20! this is the first birthday that i've actually felt older. bizarre! i got my birthday letter from my dallin yesterday, and my birthday card from him today! perfect timing. we love tangled!

holly was the first one to tell me happy birthday today! she woke me up before she left for school to give me this card she made. so adorable! she worked so hard on it. i love her so much

kim, dallin's mom, took me to red robin for my birthday lunch! she waited til exactly 1:52 to give me my present (jewelry!). their birthday tradition is getting their present the minute they were born, and i've been hoping to be made a part of this family tradition! she made today special :)

friends :) i'm so glad these girls came!! and so glad it stopped raining just in time for us to freeze outside by the fire!

overall, not to shabby of a day! it was hard not having my dallin here, but its ok!! i got my pretty princess card on right on time :) and lots of family and friends showed me how much they care :) they made today alot easier!

dallin + hilary

my love and i have been together for 2 and a half years! i'm patiently waiting for him as he serves his mission in tennessee. he's an amazing missionary and i wouldn't want him anywhere else!
dallin is my best friend!! he always knows just what to say and just how to make me laugh. he is such a sweetheart!

important things you should know:

• we were high school sweethearts! (yes i have his letterman jacket!)



• we met in seminary



• we love fireworks and picnics



• we write once a week



• for christmas 2010, my dallin gave me 104 boxes of mac and cheese, one for each week he's gone! wednesday is mac day.



• we have a piggy bank that we have been filling with loose change for a year now



• we send tic tac toe back and forth through letters



• we have a thing for confetti!



• we love singing in the car



• we love food network



• we can always finish each others sentences, even from 1000 miles away!



• we both have promise rings from each other
