here's to a happier month than august.

august was a whirlwind of emotion. it was a long hard month.

my dallin started school and i got a new job! change is not easy for me. so new things and new schedules were kind of hard to adjust to! i was a little sad to leave my old job i've had for years, but i'm so excited for this new adventure!! some decisions needed to be made and i'm so blessed to have my new job. it's so good for me and i'm so happy.

one of the things i love most about working in salt lake city is getting to drive past the temple every single day. i look forward to it and adore it. so gorgeous

on august 15, my dear sweet gram passed away. and it's been the hardest thing i've ever had to go through. i'm not ready to talk about it yet. but i do have alot to say about that incredible woman. i'm working on it. our family had so many sweet and spiritual moments with her that is is such a bittersweet time. i'm so lucky to have such a supportive loving husband. and i'm so lucky to know about the gospel and have the peace and comfort that brings. some days are harder than others.

happy happened in august too. we got to go to one of my favorite places in the world, the spruces, to camp and hike and feel the wonders of the world. it's absolute magic.

yesterday dallin and i celebrated our 3 month wedding anniversary! i'm so lucky to have someone that works hard at school and work, and still makes time for me :) i'm so happy to get to have him for eternity!!

and here's my september wreath :) i love all things fall! so i'm excited to start putting fall things out :)

home is where your husband is

i can't believe we've already been married for 40 days! just over a month :)
and this has been the best month of my life. everything is so fun and new and i just can't get enough! i love being married!!
i thought dating was fun. i thought the ring shopping phase was fun. i thought being engaged was the funnest! and now. being married beats all. and it will never end! i get to spend alllllll my time forever with my best friend. i get to keep having this much fun always. i love being a newlywed.

i found this list of 22 benefits of being married on inspiredbride.net, and it was too cute not to remember. and so true!
1. you'll have a live-in spider killer so lucky :)
2. someone will always be around to reach the top shelves in the kitchen always need it
3. you'll live longer, studies have shown married couples live longer big plus
4. you'll always get a valentine's present, and an anniversary present my permanent valentine!
5. your husband is like a built in toe warmer waiting on the other side of the bed very convenient

22. you'll have someone to try new recipes on...and some to tell you how good your butt looks in those jeans he's a good sport about trying my recipes, and always asks for seconds! its a bonus that i'm an awesome cook!! and its always nice to be reassured about your pants :) :)

there's a few more that i might add:
i love living with a worthy priesthood holder! i feel safe. and happy. and proud of him.
he changes the toilet paper roll! i HATE doing that. it just annoys me. and he always does it for me :)
he cooks for me too!
he's such a hard worker. i am sooo blessed.

one of my favorite things about being married is reading scriptures and praying together as husband and wife before bed. i think that was when it felt really real, you know? absolutely amazing feeling.

i absolutely looove our new ward and i'm so excited for whats to come!! we both the elders quorum presidency and the bishopric over to visit this week, and we just feel so good about being here and being in the ward. i can tell we have great leadership already!

i love being a wife! i love cooking and cleaning and doing dishes all while i listen to my golden oldies pandora station.

fun things in the last couple weeks:

actually this was our first homemade meal after being back from our honeymoon. tuna melts and sparkling cider that someone gave us along with these fancy glasses :)

i'm spoiled. and i love cooking with all my fancy things :) love my kitchenaid!

finally got our wedding pictures back!!!
so so exciting.
and i love them!! they are perfect and exactly what i wanted. i had this horrible nightmare that i got them back from our photographer and my hair was ridiculous and my eyes were closed and it was just embarrassing. so i was VERY relieved to see that the pictures are fine :)
it does help that it was an absolutely PERFECT morning at the temple with an amazing sky and weather, and obviously we look great because the best most amazing thing in the world that we had been waiting for for years just happened (eternal marriage!!!!) and we have loving family and friends that looked amazing. and you can't go wrong in a wedding dress. and the bouquet rocked.
anyway. very happy with these, and having a wonderful time getting them enlarged and put up around the house and put together in a picaboo book!
cant stop staring at them :)
